Founded in 1962 as the Northern Secondary Teachers’ College in Zaria, the institution has evolved through several milestones to become a leading center for teacher education. Initially supported by the United Nations Special Fund and UNESCO, it later became the Advanced Teachers’ College under Ahmadu Bello University. In 1989, it was transformed into the Federal College of Education, Zaria, offering Nigeria Certificate in Education programs. In 2024, it officially achieved Federal University of Education status, continuing its legacy of producing skilled educators and advancing quality education across Nigeria.
