This research investigates the effect of an isothermal wall and the characteristic properties of selected nanofluids in a mixed convection flow. The coupled partial differential equations (PDEs) are derived as governing equations and solved using the Laplace transform technique. The study evaluates nanofluid’s velocity, temperature, penetration distance, heat transfer rate, and shear stress based on dimensionless parameters. Additionally, the study correlates the effects of heat transfer and shear stress near the plate surface, presenting the findings in a suitable table. The results indicate that Ag-water and Cu-water exhibit similar profiles, while oxides differ. Furthermore, an increase in nanoparticle volume fraction over time leads to an increase in the Nusselt number and shear stress. This research recommends the use of high heat transfer to give a low change in porosity, permeability and nanoparticle concentration. High heat should also be used as it affects the velocity and temperature profiles inside the boundary layer.

Effective implementation is crucial for a well-planned curriculum. The poor performance of National Certificate in Education (NCE) graduates in science subjects, particularly Chemistry, raises concerns. Research by science educators and stakeholders highlights inadequacies in the current Chemistry curriculum in Nigeria's Colleges of Education, warranting a thorough investigation. This study evaluated the implementation of the Chemistry curriculum in Colleges of Education in North-central Nigeria. Adopting a descriptive survey design, the study involved 42 Chemistry lecturers and 538 Chemistry students from seven Colleges of Education, selected using purposive and census sampling techniques. Instruments included two questionnaires, an observation schedule, and a checklist, with reliability coefficients of 0.81, 0.72, and 0.78, respectively. Data were analysed using percentages, means, and standard deviations. Findings revealed that while facilities and resources were available, they were inadequate and underutilised. The study recommended increased provision of resources by state and federal governments, alongside improved monitoring and supervision of Chemistry lecturers, to enhance teaching and learning.

This study investigated the influence of rehabilitation counselling on psychosocial adjustment of internally displaced persons in Benue South Senatorial Zone, Benue State, Nigeria. The study adopted a descriptive survey of research design. The population for this study comprises 3,588 internally displaced persons in Benue South Senatorial Zone, Benue State. The sample size of 290 internally displaced persons were selected using Research Advisor (2006) table to determine the sample size. A researcher-designed instrument entitled “Rehabilitation Counselling Scale (RCS) was used for data collection. This scale contained 15 closed items with respondents’ responses limited to 4-likert of Strongly Agreed (SA), Agreed (A), Disagreed (D), and Strongly Disagreed (SD) respectively. The questionnaire was faced and content validated by two experts in the department of Guidance and Counselling, Nasarawa State University, Keffi. Cronbach Alpha reliability was used to establish the reliability of the instrument which gave 0.83 and 0.82. The researcher used descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze the data collected. Mean and standard deviation was used to answer the research questions, while t-test was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The finding of the study revealed that there is a significant influence of rehabilitation counselling on psychosocial adjustment of internally displaced persons in Benue South Senatorial Zone, Benue State, Nigeria. Consequently, the study recommended that government should make rehabilitation counsellors available in internally displaced camps to assist IDPs with psychological and emotional therapies in Benue South Senatorial Zone, Nigeria.

This study investigated Effect of Computer-based Instruction on performance in pronunciation of Back and Central Vowels of English Language among secondary school students at FCT, Abuja. Two research questions and two null hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. The research design for the study was quasi-experimental. The sample for the study consisted of 160 SSS2 students from two co-educational schools in Gwagalada Area Council. A multi-stage random sampling technique was used. The experimental group comprised 84 school students located in rural area and 76 school students located in urban area. Both the experimental group and control group were given the same back and central English vowels performance test questions. The instrument used for data collection was the English Vowels Performance Test (EVPT). Mean was used to answer the research questions while ANCOVA was used to test the hypotheses at p<0.05. From the results obtained, it was found that students in the experimental group had significantly higher performance scores in back and central vowels of English than their counterparts who are in the control group. Also, location had a significant effect on students’ achievement in back and central vowels of the English language. Based on the findings, it was recommended the English language teachers should adopt computer-based instruction in teaching the back and central vowels of English.

The study determined the effect of multimedia resources on interest, performance and retention in mathematics concepts among upper-basic secondary school students in Zaria, Kaduna-State. This study had four objectives, four research questions and four null hypotheses. Quasi-experimental research design was adopted for the study. The population of the study was 2,766 Basic II mathematics students in Zaria with a sample size of 200 via 2-intact classes. Mathematics Performance Test (MPT) and Mathematics Interest Questionnaire (MIQ) were used as instruments for data collection. The instruments were validated by 3 senior lecturers in the Department of Science Education and Measurement and Evaluation from ABU, Zaria. The two instruments were reliable with 0.83 and 0.73 coefficient values. Men, standard deviation, t-test and Mann-Whitney U tests were used for analyses. The results revealed that there is significant difference in the performance of students taught using multimedia resources and those taught using conventional method in mathematics in upper-basic schools in Kaduna State ((p = 0.00 < 0.05), no significant difference between the retention ability level of students (p = 0.20 < 0.05), there is significant difference between the interest level of students (p = 0.00 < 0.05), and there is significant difference in the performance of male and female mathematics students (p = 0.00 < 0.05). It was recommended among others that Kaduna state Government should make multimedia resources available and adequate for teaching and learning of mathematics in upper basic schools in Kaduna State, among others.

This study investigated the effect of emotional intelligence skills training on academic self-efficacy among senior secondary school students in Kebbi State, Nigeria. The study utilized a quasi-experimental, non-equivalent control group, pre-test – post-test design. Intact classes of 60 students was drawn from a population of 53,651 senior secondary school students. Data was collected using the Academic Self-Efficacy Scales (ASES) and analyzed using t-test. Findings indicated that emotional intelligence skills training positively impacted academic self-efficacy in the experimental group (t=14.319, P=.000). The training was effective in improving academic self-efficacy, as evidenced by the difference between pre-test and post-test scores (t=17.906, P=.000), favoring the post-test results. No significant gender difference was found in the effect of the training, meaning it had a similar impact on both male and female students (t=1.114, P=.270). It was recommended that school principals, counselors, psychologists, and subject teachers receive exposure to emotional intelligence skills (self-awareness, self-management, social-awareness, and relationship management) to address students’ academic problems.

The study assessed the influence of internet resources utilization on lecturers' self-efficacy in teaching Mathematics at Colleges of Education, Northwest Nigeria. A descriptive survey research design was adopted. The study set two objectives, research questions and hypotheses respectively. From the population size of 304, a sample size of 117 respondents was taken. Data were collected through a self-structured questionnaire titled "Internet Resources Utilization and Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (IRUSEQ)" which comprised 45 items rated on a Four-Point modified Likert Scale and it has a reliability coefficient of 0.72 after pilot testing. Data collected from the respondents were analyzed using Pearson Product Moment Correlation and t-test, at a 0.05 level of significance. The result revealed that there is a statistically significant positive relationship between internet resources utilization and lecturers' self-efficacy (r = 0.47 and P= 0.002). Also there is a statistically significant difference between male and female participants in their utilization of internet resources (P=0.036<0.05). The study recommended that Colleges of Education should implement regular, gender-inclusive capacity-building workshops and digital training sessions for Mathematics lecturers, aimed at improving their proficiency and confidence in using internet-based resources for instructional purposes.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of twelve weeks jogging on the body composition of users of erudite gym in Ovia North East of Edo state. Three research questions were raised in this study and three corresponding hypotheses were formulated and tested at 0.05 level of significant. The pretest-post-test control group experimental design was adopted in this study. The population of the study comprised all the 125 users of erudite gym in Ovia North East. The sample size of this study was made of 32 users of erudite gym. The multistage sampling procedure was used to select the subjects. The instrument for the test includes a stadiometer and Omron fat monitor. Data collected was analysed using Analysis of Co-variance (ANCOVA). The findings of the study revealed that there is a significant difference in the body weight of participants after twelve weeks jogging. It was therefore concluded that there was a significant difference in the body mass index of the participants following 12 weeks jogging programme. It is recommended among others that regular jogging should be part of our daily routine.
