Biography

Abdullahi  Ahmed Musa is a Nigerian political scientist and academic with over nine years of combined teaching and research experience in higher education. He currently serves as Lecturer II in the Department of Political Science at the Federal University of Education, Zaria, Kaduna State, where his career has progressed steadily from Assistant Lecturer through Lecturer III, alongside sustained institutional commitment and dedication to effective service delivery. He served at the departmental committees such as orientation, welfare, workshop and publication committees. His academic trajectory reflects a consistent focus on Nigeria's public policy and governance, international relations, security studies, comparative politics, African political thought, underpinned by an active and growing publication record in peer-reviewed journals and academic books.

Beyond the classroom, he is currently advancing postgraduate studies at the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna, building on a first degree in Political Science from the University of Abuja and a Professional Diploma in Education from the Federal College of Education, Zaria. This blend of disciplinary depth and pedagogical training has shaped a career that spans NCE-level/ undergraduate B.ed degree instruction, project supervision, conference scholarship, and policy-relevant research on some of the most pressing questions facing Nigeria and the West African sub-region today.

His 2025 article in the Kashere Journal of Politics and International Relations examines neo-colonialism and dependent development in Africa, arguing that Nigeria's economic and political systems remain shaped by external institutions such as the World Bank and IMF, and situating this within dependency theory. Governance & Nation-Building
